About this event

Thirteen months into the pandemic, Tanya Washington’s FULLY vaccinated father died of COVID-19 on March 25th, 2021 in Columbia, SC. He followed every protocol, but was exposed to the deadly California variant by an unvaccinated employee in his office. Her dad brought joy and love to everyone. He was an incredible storyteller, always had a joke and made everyone he met feel special. In the days after his death, Tanya pledged to honor her father’s life by educating people and sharing his story in hopes that others never experience her heartbreak. On August 7, for National COVID Awareness Day, we will gather in Atlanta to honor the lives of every family member and friends we lost to the pandemic. For those who are gone, but not forgotten.

Please note: Wearing a mask is required. Due to the rise of the delta variant cases, we want to be as safe as possible.

Time: Saturday, August 7th 11AM - 1PM EDT

Location: St. Lukes Episcopal Church
