Brethren drop off donations to the Masonic Children's Home
There is hardly anything more important to Freemason's than helping out our communities, improving our knowledge, and taking care of the Widows' Son. The latter is apparent when you look at the dedication, hard work, and organization of Bro. Darby Yale; our Masonic Children's Home Ambassador. He was assisted by his right hand; Mrs. Darlene Yale and WB. Alan Colussy in the organization of the fundraiser. This year, as a special request during the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Highlander Bar on April 6th -9th; with his birthday being on April 7th. Bro. Yale asked for donations to the Masonic Children's home instead of gifts being given to him.
Over $2000 was collected in monetary donations and boxes of household items were donated as well. Bro. Darby asked for material donations to be made of lesser- donated items that the children may need. Things like toothpaste, cleaning supplies, makeup remover, etc. He also held a silent auction with the donations benefiting the Children's Home. The patrons and friends of The Highlander came through for such a worthy cause. The donations were driven down to the Masonic Children's home where the Brethren got some assistance unloading the items from our children and staff. It was a beautiful event and the children were happy to assist. This type of drive should resonate with the Brethren of our great Fraternity. Bro. Yale He is a shining example of Freemasonry and outstanding member of Gate City Lodge No. 2.
The Masonic Children's Home, Gate City No. 2 and Bro. Yale would like to thank all those that participated, donated, and helped out in any manner with this fundraiser. We have other events planned, so please stay tuned.
